The world is changing and moving towards equality. In the pursuit of gender equality and inclusion in the corporate world, women continue to break barriers and ascend to prominent positions in business. Here are some initiatives I noticed on how business schools are supporting and nurturing women in their pursuit of leadership and entrepreneurial endeavours:
Scholarship Opportunities:
One of the most significant ways business schools support women in business is through Women-only scholarship programs, specifically designed for female students and leaders, such as the Forté Foundation which aims to change the balance of power in the workplace. Such financial aids enable women to pursue higher education and alleviate the financial burden that often accompanies such endeavours. By breaking down financial barriers, these scholarships encourage women to excel in their studies and prepare for leadership roles in the business world.
Entrepreneurial Support:
Business schools offer aspiring female entrepreneurs comprehensive support to transform their ideas into successful businesses. Incubators and accelerators specifically designed for women provide mentorship, funding opportunities, and access to valuable resources to help them launch and grow their startups. For example, at Imperial, I was a part of the Women in Business Club where we had access to hundreds of female mentors who wanted to support the careers of their mentees. Additionally, business schools organise networking events that foster connections between students and industry leaders, further enhancing women's prospects for career advancement.

I took a negotiation class for the first time in my life during my MBA, it was truly eye-opening.
