Northgate University sits in New York City, a few blocks from the financial district that shapes much of what happens inside its classrooms. Founded in 1897 as a night school for working clerks, it grew into a full research university while keeping that original habit of teaching people who already have jobs to get back to. The Halloway School of Business is its graduate business school, named after the family that funded its first building in 1954. About 1,400 students study here across full-time MBA, part-time MBA, and specialised master's programmes in finance, business analytics, and management. Class sizes stay small by design, with most core courses capped at 55. Teaching leans heavily on cases drawn from firms within walking distance. Students spend a term working on a live problem for a partner company, and the school runs its own investment fund with real capital managed by second-year students. Around 40 percent of each intake comes from outside the United States. Graduates typically move into consulting, investment banking, and product roles at technology firms.
