The program requires 30 semester hours from MECH 500 and 600 level courses, with a minimum of 12 semester hours at the 600 level. Students must successfully complete Engineering Mathematics (MECH 604) and maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. A maximum of 4 courses (12 semester hours) may be taken in any given semester.
No, the thesis is optional. The program offers both thesis and non-thesis options. Students choosing the thesis option (MECH 686) may satisfy up to 6 semester hours of elective course requirements. Students must obtain a thesis advisor before departmental consent will be considered.
