The Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering equips students to apply engineering principles to challenges in medicine and biology, develop models of living systems, and design innovative biomedical devices and technologies that advance human health. The program is highly interdisciplinary, allowing students to select from a wide range of study areas across the university, including biology, public health, and regulatory affairs. Coursework may cover topics such as cancer therapeutics, cardiac electrophysiology, biosensors, microfluidics, medical imaging and image analysis, optogenetics, robotics, and ultrasound applications in medicine. Located in the heart of Washington, DC, the university offers students unparalleled access to leading research and government institutions.
