In this session, Professor JP Helveston, Assistant Professor in EMSE and Director of the Data Analytics MS program, presented how he used Conjoint Analysis, a market research technique, to design survey experiments and build models to predict consumer choices. He applied this technique in his research to inform policy on consumer adoption of emerging technologies, such as electric vehicles and solar panels. Professor Helveston also discussed how he teaches this method in an EMSE course and mentioned several R packages he authored to support experiment design and model estimation. Additionally, the session covered emerging career opportunities in this field and highlighted how George Washington University graduates have successfully leveraged their master's degrees to secure promising career paths.
